ER32 Collet Back Plate - Part 2 of 3

Heres the second of a 3 part series on making a ER32 Collet Chuck backing plate for my lathe

Uum- perhaps I missed something: -Did you feed into the thread by using the cross slide only?
If you're feeding in the cuts by the compound, shouldn't it rather be angled with the handle towards the headstock
to keep cutting on the leading edge only of the point tool?
