    Start off with taking on as much water ballast as the tanks will hold this will add so much weight to the ship it will compress the bottom of the canal then pump out all of the ballast connect a ship and several tugs to the stern and do the same for the bow pull in opposite directions problem solved

    NOW I don't feel so bad about removing the door frame of our laundry room (37") to install our upright freezer (39" - narrowest point) Hopefully, if we sell the house with appliances as part of the deal, the next guy will figure it out when it finally dies. Ya gotta remember, there's a good chance a "Gen X'r" may very well be the new owner!
