    Neat. Might as well be made of razorblades. I use bar and rod grating whenever possible instead of this stuff. What I want to know is why expanded steel, which should be the cheapo poverty material, is more expensive than diamond plate. Makes no sense.

    I only use the rolled, flattened expanded metal. Nice and smooth! Easier to cut too.

    Pound for pound, expanded SHOULD be economical.
    However, diamond plate is rolled, many several feet per minute, then cut to length.
    Whereas expanding is incremental, dieset and press require periodic service and tremendous capitol investment. I can't see heavier gauges being fed from rolled stock material either.
