Many years ago, steam shovels used a very similar style of bucket action. That evolved into the familiar shoulder-elbow-wrist configuration of modern excavators. This machine is almost a full circle of that, except with hydraulics and diesel instead of ropes, cables, and steam.

I watched a very gifted operator scoop out a kidney shaped pool a couple of weeks ago with a wrist excavator, the finishing guys love him.

I have a wrist that will fit my Ford 755 backhoe and the auxiliary hydraulics to operate it but have never installed it because I haven't even needed it and don't have a wide finishing bucket. The guy I got the backhoe from dug pools with it for years then removed it and installed it on the Kubota KN 191 excavator and used it on that for several more years Now I have the Kubota as well but he kept the 4 ft finishing bucket
Never try to tell me it can't be done

The first thing I thought of was a book I remember from my childhood, Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel.

For topical application, only. Not to be taken internally or used in com-
bination with other drugs or alcohol, except as directed by your shaman.
Do not operate heavy equipment, unless you actually know how to.

Hydraulic Shovels have completely replaced every other digging machine in the oil sands. Everything else is obsolete. They're very neat, but they're reversed from a conventional excavator. Hydraulic Shovels dig away and excavators dig towards you.

Edit: Okay I was replying to someone above and really don't know what happened to the conversation. Looks like things went off the rails from hydraulic digging apparatuses.

Hoe becomes a shovel when you turn the bucket around.

Reference to post #13 That video in the setting of very young children most of the performers are just plain vulgar. suitable only for establishments where the audience is limited to 21 years of age or above. If for some reason a school is not comfortable with men such as Police Firefighters active duty or veteran service personnel coming to their schools but allow whatever those bipedal beings were, then there is something seriously wrong. The furthest I would go would be to allow someone dressed or portraying themselves like Mrs. Doubtfire, and even that would be questionable,

must be 60 years since I read that book, a few years before that my 1st grade teacher read it to us with so much enthusiasm, she had all of us kids sitting on the edge of our seats.
Do teachers still do story time for their students? I'll have to remember to ask my youngest daughter if she still reads stories to her students after more than 20 years of teaching.
