Glass is fascinating stuff. In school I worked at a "junk yard", complete with a mean junk yard dog. Learned so much removing good parts from wrecked cars. One time a car came in, locked, no keys. Had to get in it to get the heater blower. Did not have a SlimJim door opener in my "yard buggy" I figured I would just toss a steel wheel against the glass it would break. I am not a little guy, but I was never able to toss that wheel hard enough to break that glass.

A lot of physics in play there; tempered glass, round edges on the wheel, the glass able to move just enough in the frame to reduce the impact stress.

One smack from a little ball peen hammer did the trick.
