Yes they can. I wasn't implying that it wasn't dangerous. It was referred to as a boulder. I don't know, maybe a giant dirt clod is a boulder.

I don't think they have a special classifying name once objects reach a certain size other than boulder. I have heard Rangers referring to an avalanche of snow creating boulder sized snowballs

Yep, 5 feet further forward and that truck ends up at the bottom of the hill along with that giant boulder-like object, being swept away by the river. Just the airbag deploying alone probably injured the driver. Seat belts and airbags are only good in certain accident situations.

A friend of mine who had his seatbelt on and was T-boned on the passenger side by a drunk that ran a red light. Because he was strapped in to his seat and the force was from the side, it broke his back. 1970 GTO with a bench seat. Had he not been buckled, he'd have been injured but most likely would not have broken his back. Wheelchair bound since that day. He's a motivational speaker now and doing quite well but doesn't look at the accident as a "blessing"
