Final?????? update to the lathe electronic control

This is a follow up to previous posts on my lathe conversion to NOT CNC.

The other day I was rumageing through one of my boxes of electronics bits and pieces and I came across several unused number pads left over from a project around 1986/7. I thought that one of these ought to be added to the lathe controller project. The programming to make the change from the rotary encoder to numpad data entry was pretty simple. The most time was spent on making a cable between the Mega2560, which handles the input, and the numpad. Here is a pic. click the image for full size.



I had no space for it on the front panel so for now I mounted it to the RHS in a separate component box. At some unspecified time in the future, tomorrow or next year or never, I shall move everything to a new larger single box.
