Flip out automotive cupholders - GIFs

Flip out automotive cupholders; two versions. A likely candidate for both the first item to break in your vehicle, and the most overpriced replacement part.

Have to agree on both counts
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

Huh, my 2001 outback has one and it's still fine. As a mechanic shop owner for over 35 years I found most things like this break due to abuse. I have seen it. Slamming drinks in without looking. Trying to jam drinks to large into the holder, on and on.

they are probably tested to 2000 uses or whatever counts in statistics to be longer than the warrenty period of the vehicle. BUT THEY LOOK SO CUTE!

That looks like it would have some better longevity like my old boat ones.

My Subaru has one like the second video above. I use it half-open to hang up my old wired headset that I use for my cell phone calls. (I never liked the idea of raling an antenna in my ear: i.e., bluetooth)

I'm with Charles on that. A friend was on blutooth all the time & died from brain cancer: also happened to an aquaintance. Now our major telcos have warnings in the small print at the bottom of websites.

Out of concerns for safety they will probably come up with an air bag to go around it as well
Don't need those gimmicky cup holders just provide a hole where the cups can sit
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Back in 70s and 80s, mb didn't have cup holders. So at the request of some customers we installed folding wood trimmed cup holders. Mbs thought at the time was that you drive when on the road, not eat and drink.
