Thumbs up Flip top welding table

I made this a couple of years ago so it's not new. But with spring here I wanted to use the forge and thought I might as well take a couple of pictures as long as I had to un-bury it from the winters accumulation of stuff that got stacked around it.
Don't give me a bad time I still have a bunch of spring cleaning to do!
    As a welding table

And with the top open for use as a forge.
The pan is 2" deep with a brake drum in the center for the fire pot, The tuyere has a flip gate on the bottom for clean out of ash and clinkers and the blower was salvaged from the forced air of a wood stove.

Now to get around to attaching the blower with something other than gaffers tape!

Wow, that's the last thing I expected to see when you flipped the top! Very good idea.

Thanks C-Bag, When it came time for a new outdoor welding table the first idea was for just a tray to throw small items in.
But after I had the pan built I looked at it and thought how much it looked like a forge pan, Since I always wanted a forge but could never justify the space it would take up the idea just popped! I could have both. And as they say the rest is history!

I guess I might as well show the reason for digging out the forge.
My son just got his railway conductors license so I thought it only fitting that he have a railroad spike knife!

This was my firs attempt at a spike knife and the only high carbon spike I could find was pretty well rusted up. but I don't think it was to bad for a first attempt.

Great 1st effort. I made a custom knife for my son when he deployed to Afghanistan. He carried it with him everywhere he went.
