    That was not a lifting fail it was a failure to insure there was no way the forklift could roll off the edge. Never rely on the parking brake alone in a situation where you have to park at the edge of anything.

    I think he forgot about the Park Brake. I do like the way he put his hand up to stop the forklift rolling.
    I have a 1972 Land Rover Series III Truck Cab/Pick-Up and a 1962 Land Rover Series 2a Carawagon Camper.

    I recall all of the forklifts I have operated had a MICO lock and you used them...

    Even if it had a good parking brake, you never rely on that on any kind of grade. A wheel chock is a much better method to ensure the truck can't move or even a 2X4, something solid to prevent the truck from rolling. It's a case of getting too comfortable with a poor method working too many times. Hopefully it was his boat and his forklift!
