I’d classify this as a cat’s head farrier’s hammer, although normally the two side penes are much smaller. This has been evidently forged to be a versatile, go-to forging hammer. But ergonomically, an oval handle would be more comfortable. I have 2 cat’s heads, but only use the older one, which has a short handle: it had a lot of use by the previous owner

A lot of blacksmiths use four-headed hammers to save space and cost.
