    You might could friction weld a shaft into a hole on a lathe with a proper setup but I don't see any practical application with a drill press.

    I can't be the only one seeing the possibility of losing fingers or getting gut sliced at the 10 to 20 second mark. Holding by hand? Insane!

    At least he didn't use gloves - cut fingers aren't as bad as mangles ones...

    As for "practical application", with little more "on hand experience" - battery tabs maybe?
