    G'Day

    G'Day

I live in the centre of Australia, 500 km (300 miles) from the next town.
My interests are wood/pen turning, a few years ago I bought a metal lathe to complement this, since then some how a mill and band saw appeared in my shed.
I have no one to teach me so be prepared for a lot of questions.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

Metal Lathe, Mill, Band Saw; truly a favored package of machinery. They augment each other in many ways; including roughing out work better finished on another. You could acquire additional machine tools, but they won't produce that much extra capability, discounting work envelope. Searching this site will generate every manner of fixture and tooling reference you can imagine.
Not to mention the inevitable array of responses, varied, and even if not proven at least pursued ideas to questions of all kinds.
    Sincerely,
    Toolmaker51

The great thing about having the three tool you stated you can just about duplicate them as well as make most any tooling you do not have in time.

That group of internet machinists I only have limited exposure to; and the community grows every minute. Fenner, lazy, and Oxtool all impress me. Not working metal just for $, but it's infinite, interesting, and fun. That they post is a positive for any level of experience. Best way is not always accessible, but some variation can save the day.
