The second guy was turned the wrong way. Camera angle makes it look pretty close. But it could be deceptive.

You never turn your back on steel that's rolling. In 33 years, I've been hit twice by rebar. When the tension or stand speed change abruptly the steel can let loose from the stands.

There's a reason why you never turn your back to the steel when its in the mill. Cobbles happen quickly, with no warning, if you are not paying attention!
