Clock repair men have long used a wire dipped in oil to deposit tiny amounts on clock bearings. In my younger days I modified the idea by making a tiny loop in the end of the wire to hold a bit more oil; this was used to lubricate some of my miniature engines. With a bit of chopstick handle the net cost was zero and time to build maybe two minutes.
