Guédelon 13th century castle construction

Guédelon Castle is a modern-day rebuild of a French castle from 1228. The castle is being built using only the techniques and building materials from the Middle Ages. The 25-year project was started in 1997, and should be completed sometime in the 2020s.

The castle is being built by a team of 40, and has turned into a thriving tourist destination in the Burgundy region of France.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for highlighting the marvelous work at Guedelon Castle.
I've not visited it yet, but will do for sure sooner or later.
My son (17 now) had decided, when he was ~5 or 6 to build the same in our garden ... I'm not sure he has given up the idea ...

Other interesting work, thought less unique maybe, was the rebuild of Lafayette's frigate "Hermyone" in Rochefort, France
(maybe you have heard about it as she traveled in 2015 to the the US)
