Hafner Rotabuggy flying jeep - photos

The Hafner Rotabuggy was an experimental aircraft developed by the British during WWII as a way to airdrop light vehicles to the battlefield. It was essentially a Willys MB fitted with a rotor kite.

It looks like an autogyro. I don't see what propels it forward. I guess it may have been towed by another aircraft.

According to wiki it was tested being towed behind a Bentley and had undergone several low level drop tests prior to that finally it was as you said pushed out of a plane.
By the time is was considered ready for service other developments had made it obsolete
