Machining the nut dimensions 0.2 mm smaller than the slot dimensions!

Ok, interesting but why? What is the advantage? Besides being able to insert and take the nut out of the t-slot without having to run to the end?

Thanks for your interest Ralphxyz! Mount and dismount dividing head, tailstock, vise, etc. it's easier with clean slots, do you agree? Slots full of chips make assembly and disassembly difficult. Cleaning slots with mounted devices is not so pleasant. Even with a collector or compressed air, small fragments remain hidden. Think about disassembling T nuts on milling machines with very long work tables, it would be a real marathon ...

If I understood your question correctly, you could start making this nut according to the drawing below. Thanks for your interest again!

Thanks, putting it on my list of things to do, of course I can never find that list when I actually have some time to do things.

This is a great idea. Adding it to my list. I still would recommend using regular T nuts for really heavy loads.

    Cheers
