Hammer With Replaceable Faces

Actually a way to mark projects that doesn't involve branding might be very useful. Generally I think of that as a punch but a "hammer" designed to be struck by another might do the trick.

Back in the day, they had something I'll refer to as a "timber marking hammer" because I don't know the correct term. Basically, it was a hammer with a relief carving of logo/initials/whatever in the striking face. Smashing it into the cut end of a log permanently marked that log. Think of it as a branding iron that required no heating.

We don't need to mark logs in our shops but the concept of a "marking hammer" may be applicable to some other problem. Texturing material, as is sometimes done to leather, is a possibility.
