    mklotz's Tools

    Hander

One of my most useful tools is my hand hammer (hander). A length of gas pipe fitted with one steel end and one brass end plus about 8 oz. of bird shot. It's great for "adjusting" things in spaces too tight to swing a real hammer.

An added benefit... A hammer takes up a lot of room in the smallish tool box I carry to shows. The hander is compact and just as effective as long as you don't want to drive 10d nails.

great idea and simple common materials really add to the purposefulness of the hammer too. tools made from potentially sacrificial parts inspire more modification and more daring use.

I like the double ended hammer. It could also be used in conjunction with a handled hander, IE regular hammer. Especially handy ( ouch:-( if one had several lengths.
