Handheld over-bowl vegetable cutter - GIF

Handheld over-bowl vegetable cutter. I'm trying to think why this would not be gimmicky, but I'm coming up short. Anyone?

Agreed Jon but I did like those rotary saladmaster slicers 100 times faster than a pair of shears with a nylon cutting board fixed to them.

It seems to me that a nylon (or other plastic) thimble to go over one's thumb (and used with a paring knife) would be faster and safer than this modified anvil pruner design.

holding my hand over a pot of boiling liquid, compared to cutting on the much cooler kitchen benchtop, then transferring the veggies to the hot pot - bit of a no brainer to me.
