I didn't know that the standard bale was now called a mini bale there is a farmer not far from me who bales all 3 kinds depending on field size and destination of his hay. If his hay is going to be destined for long distance transport like from Tx to Montana those are usually the 4x4x8 square bales called square because of the cross section size not the length. His round bales usually are for his own livestock but he does sell a few 1000 each year the standard bales the kind we bucked and hauled as kids that he has come from his irregular shaped and smaller fields that are too difficult to get his big tractors in.
I don't know how many acres he produces hay on. I do know he has a 3500 acre allotment each year for cotton so it would be safe to assume he has at least double that amount of land in hay plus I know he hauls at least 10,000 gallons of water to his livestock every day because his water truck passes by my house several times a day hauling water to the cattle.
