hello from Brazil

I am an American living in Brazil. Do it yourself is not as big here as in the US, but it is growing. Tools have traditionally been either very expensive, industrial types, or over priced junk for hobbyists that was not worth looking at. The only option was to build things. Now that is changing, but the do it yourself tools are still too expensive.
I am interested in building a wood lathe, maybe a band saw, (more complicated than my meager skills allow I think), maybe a mini table saw. I already have a 10 inch one I brought from the states.
