Hi Frank, Well it all started when i had this generator that had a female 220 volt outlet then I bought a 20 ft extension cord, then I wanted to adapt it to the welder.
So I put a big red light on the power box and never turned it on before I plugged it in . and so it is now.

I know the feeling I had a generator set up that way for a while at a place I lived. But one day I needed the cord for something else and changed 1 end then instead of needing to change it back every time I wanted to use the generator as auxiliary power I bought one of the recessed male connectors to install at the house problem solved and the risk of someone else not knowing the double male cord. I left the female receptacle on the house as well giving me double use out of my cord.
