    I remember Google working on stuff like this for the Google Books project, although IIRC that used two cameras, one aimed at each page with a significant amount of post-processing to normalize the scanned print.

    It’s interesting to note that if your name is printed in a book, you are likely to spot it, if you flick through it fast. It happened to me once.
