My first job at 18 was as an auto body helper. MY boss had a couple pieces of glass from old jobs about 12x12. He mixed body filler on those. The two advantages doing it this way is that the filler mixes easily and grinds off the glass easily so the glass can be reused. I have not found a better way in the last 50 years.
