    Bravo indeed!

I agree Rick, this is a truly amazing example of homemade tool work when Vyacheslav shows how he makes his homemade tools using his other homemade tools (e.g., lathe, drill press, belt sander, forge, etc. shown in previous HMT postings) and improvised tools (e.g., section of railroad track).

    Regards,
    Paul

Congratulations Vyacheslav.Nevolya - Your Forged C-Clamp is the Tool of the Week!

Difficult week to win, especially with such a basic tool, but, as both commenters have already mentioned, there is a culturally elemental toolmaking quality present here. I'm sure we've all heard man historically described as the "toolmaking animal", but now that we know that animals make tools too, this definition's next iteration is that man is the only animal that makes tools that make other tools. Anything meta is often popular in internet culture, and I hope we see this clamp make an appearance in a future video.

Also, I'm hesitant to make such a broad statement without qualification, but out of the 542 homemade clamps we have listed, I believe this may be our first hot forged one.

Many nice entries this week, including a Square Socket by mattthemuppet, a Wheel Well Lip Bender by astroracer, an update to a CNC Router by Captainleeward (software details with video coming soon), a 4-Jaw Chuck by Metaler, a 4-in-1 Screwdriver by morsa, and an impressive Barbecue by Tools & Stuff (more videos pending). We also had two nice tool improvements: a Belt Sander Modification by DanLins, and a Portaband Base Vise Upgrade by jjr2001.

You'll be receiving a $25 online gift card, in your choice of Amazon, PayPal, Giftrocket, or bitcoin. Please PM me your current email address and gift card choice and I'll get it sent over right away.

This is your 7th Tool of the Week win! Here are all of your 7 wins:

    Congratulations and well done!

    Now that is a Handmadetool.
Very interesting project and totally hand made. The forgings that I have seen are usually knives or swords but they are straight, this C clamp with the 90 degree bends is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers, JR

I've seen occasional items on this kind of work, but never enough to encourage me to do it - and I don't have much need. But your video really woke me up. I still don't know if I'll do this, but it certainly made me more aware of its possibilities. Thank you. HarryD

Thank. I'm glad you liked my job. Also, I will be happy if my ideas and videos to help other people. And maybe they will want to repeat the design of the clamp.

To much of labor for a single clamp !! It costs him maybe five times more than industrial one..

Sometimes it is about satisfaction and not saving money.
