Homemade trash can smoker - video
-
Do not, I repeat DO NOT use a trash can for a smoker. Metal trash cans are galvanized which contains arsenic a deadly poison. Perform a Google search for "Fume flue fever" which is caused by heating galvanized metal, including simply welding galvanized pipe.

Using a galvanised dustbin is not a good idea. You could make yourself very ill.

1. It's zinc, not arsenic that's used for galvanizing. Zinc oxide is created/released when heated over 400 degrees or makes contact with acidic food.
2. A lot of Zinc oxide can make you sick ( vomiting), but won't kill you.
3. Smokers shouldn't get to 400 degrees and food shouldn't come in contact with the can anyway.
4. Supposedly sealing the metal with heat resistant paint will keep zinc oxide from being produced, but i couldn't find anybody who had actually tried it.
5. Decide for yourself if you want to try it. I think i might.

This issue has been discussed on many sites to the rediculous. Actually, as a smoker it is perfectly safe. You can do this with no health risks. Period.
