    So, when the installation is completed, the gears will be covered and operating with constant lubrication, and protected from dust and grit in the mill...

    Just thought of this, if it is a rolling mill, with the material getting thinner as it passes each set of rollers, each set of rollers has to be running faster that the previous set. Wondering how that would accomplished with what appears to be that each roller is directly linked to the others, so they all run the same speed.

    Maybe this is the conveying system after or between a series of rolling mills. You are correct the shaft driving the rollers is 1 continuous shaft without and means of individual acceleration. if it were between rolling mills then I would think it would have been only the 1 cassette of rollers instead of 2. The first one already has the cover installed,
