That's a nice set of tricks. I'll keep those in mind.

I have the fastest method of all for anything under 36" across to locate the true center. It is called a center finding ruler. Mine is a stainless steel yard stick with a cork back to prevent marring of a polished surface. on the ruler one edge starts with zero to 36" the other edge starts with 18 to zero to 18 they can be bought in plastic from 6 inches long and in stainless up to 72" long.
There have been times when I have used the described methods in the video, a lot depends on the size and whether or not the piece has true square corners
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

Howcum your tape measure shows 8" being exactly 20 cm? That's not correct. 8" is slightly more than 20 cm, aproximately 20.3 cm.

I don’t see any metric tapes on here or in the link.

    And thirds!
Compound interest on pounds shillings and pence befuddled me rather when I was nine, so I failed my 11 plus!

My wife would regularly confuse people with her decimal tape measure that she had for her iron work.
