How To Fix a Broken Battery in a ESAB Warrior-Tech Welding Helmet.

A short video on the topic of battery exchange in a ESAB Warrior-Tech welding helmet. The original battery is non-removable. Many people are just throwing them away after the battery dies. This is a quick solution how to bring it back to life. I spend about $3-4 and it works great again. Maybe someone will find this helpful

i did something similar a few years ago with a stack of AA batteries, - I did find that the helmet still eventually died, and the exposed battery terminals did seem susceptible to dust and sweat from use. in retrospect, using coin cells would have been better than my 4 x AA batteries from a weight/ balance perspective.

I made this welding helmet upgrade like 2-3 weeks ago. We will see if it is immune to dust and sweat. But for home workshop it should work I think.

it took another 12 months or so for mine to die, and I hadn't sealed the holes in the casing as well as you, so I really do hope you get a good run. At the time I did a lot of bench and floor welding (so mask was looking down), and the heat where I lived was terrible, so I would be sweating a lot (drinking 10 litres per day, sweating most of it) - I would weld 1 - 2 days per week, then day job the rest of the time, so a lot of things conspired against that helmet.

I will have to consider sealing it then. But the work conditions you're talking about were hardcore - I can't even imagine drinking 10l of water - omg!
