As a former Hughes employee, I'm always watching for interesting Hughes stuff. Was on Ebay years ago. I immediately recognized the ship.

Auction was from a Hughes executive's estate, had this and a couple of desktop satellite models. Guess no one else recognized the ship, because I got it for the low bid.

This was the cover story, they were just mining the ocean floor for nickel nodules.

Don't know how many they handed out, but it couldn't have been too many.

An amazing man, who lived at least four mens' lives, in a short 67 years. My wife once did some work for one of his attending physicians, and her boss told her, "Wherever Dr. X calls you from, that's where Howard Hughes is."

My uncle worked at the Hughes Research Laboratories. This is one of the later lasers. I'll make a post with photos of one of the first lasers...
