Typical project, evolved over 10+ years:
Backyard swingset/monkeybars/ropeswing/climbingnet/treehouse/ziplines + trampoline, visible on Google Earth.
Did everything alone, safely, even hoisting & chaining logs to suspend treehouse.
Until....
Zipline pulled down an anchor tree, to 45 degrees.
Cut the tree down as precaution then hurt my leg jumping off the ladder I stood on to reach high enough to do it safely.
Then cracked open that bruised spot with a wrench, causing a slow, deep infection.
Ended in cellulitis. All better 3 months later.
------
Never had a sports injury, only home improvement & fixit injuries. This year, for example:
crushed thumb salvaging ballbearings for broken pool cleaner, impaled thumb on trampoline spring, broke teeth moving piano, splinters, cuts, slices, cellulitis.
------
I enjoy salvage & repurposing more than anything, almost. Simpler is better.
Ugly grinding wheel I made from discarded washing machine motor 47 years ago still works perfectly.
Polyethylene scraps from bottles, jugs, & kids' toys salvaged to slide refrigerator.
Old tires serve as suspension springs for zipline landing platform.
Heirloom "Thighmaster" (on wire at end of zipline) cushions trolley for safer stop.
Old styrofoam coolers & packing materials under center of (winter) pool cover prevent trapping (& drowning) kids & pets
