It's an all-aluminum trimaran ship. The next generation of warships will tell what was wrong with this one!

I saw that ship in person when it was under construction in Mobile, AL. This was in 2008. It was very impressive. It's hard to believe that it is already out of commission.

You're right but actually we're broke. Just add it to the debt.

the debt could be cleared in just a few minutes. Just run it up to 100 trillion then tell China to go pound sand
Never try to tell me it can't be done

The Navy sent them back under warranty. We all know how that goes. (we all have to pay either way)

Both Independence class and Freedom class LCS ships have issues that would make anyone hesitant to take them into troubled waters

The Independence class hulls had significant corrosion issues because of failure the grounding system/anti galvanic system that is supposed to offset ocean salinity. The manufacturers blamed the problem on lack of proper maintenance.

The Freedom class ships gas turbine propulsion was provided by Rolls Royce but coupled in with a high speed clutch by another manufacturer that failed in both computer control and bearing failures.
