    Hi Gang:
    I remember a Popular Mechanics article for building a garage door opener. ( Not installing a store bought one) It used three threaded rods welded together. The trick to get the threads "timed" right was to use short sections of matching rod to form a "V" block when welding. Then they ran a thread die over the weld.

    Good question could be one of these:

    The adjustable wrench is really a gear wrench so those are the micro teeth you hear
    It is actually a torque wrench and those clicks indicated correct torque
    It is the threads stripping once it gets tight and that sound is the metal breaking off
    The nuts are really poor quality and they are stripping out when tightened
    It is an AI fake
