Occassionally, I've been labeled an over-thinker.
Now feeling much, much better.......

Ok so we can see 2 rods on each crankpin. There are two pins on each crank with the rods removed. That would be a total of 24 rods/pistons. So, there had to be 2 of these stacked together to get 48. That is just crazy!!
