knife guard slot punch

Hey guys,

friend of mine runs knifemaking classes and has probs getting students to cut slots in knife guards so I decided to give him a hand. Went through all the possibilities and decided that the most convenient and cost effective solution was a punch and die he could use with his hydraulic press.

Gotta get ToT to teach you his ToolSteel Kung Fu :-P That way you don't have to mess with the hacksaw. Very nice end product.

This video was initially published 4/9/19 with an ending "To be continued..."
I went to his YouTube channel to find part 2 and there was no part 2 to be found.
On 10/23/19 he posted an interesting video adapting a cylindrical ceramic blade as a "Knife Guard Slot Saw."

My guess is that the punch did not work as well as he thought it would, so back to the drawing board.

I am contemplating a project that would require multiple pieces made from thin brass plate, so I am book marking this punch idea as a possibility.
