    That is a quick way to sharpen one, but also a quick way to wear the blade away. You don't remove near that much with each sharpening with a steel or stone. You get a sharper edge also with a stone. Assuming you know what you are doing.

    If you can create curled swarf from your blade then the knife is too soft to be of much use anyway
    Never try to tell me it can't be done
    When I have to paint I use KBS products

    I 'steel' my kitchen blades after using a Tormek to correct them usually, these 'sharpeners' are fine for severely damaged blades and cheap pocket knives.
