    Knurling Tool Improvement

I extended the height of the knurling adjustment nut on my scissor-type clamp-on knurling tool to provide more clearance between the adjustment nut and the QCTP tool holder. The new extension includes a 3/8” thick knurled ring for quick adjustments and a hex-end for adjusting the knurling depth.

The extension was made from 12L14 hexagonal steel rod and turned down to 0.600” dia., internally threaded 3/8-16 x 0.88, and then drilled from the other to 25/64” dia. providing thread clearance. The 0.600 dia. section has a slight 0.002” taper to allow easier sliding of the 0.5995” ID knurled ring into position and then pressing fitting into final position.
