Back in my younger and dumber days, I would commonly split semis on the highway. You had to go fast otherwise sometimes it would feel as though your wheels were getting sucked under the truck. I stopped doing it when I startled a truck driver so much that he almost ran off the road. I felt bad and started using the shoulders then. Would still split cars though. At 140ish, traffic is simply obstacles to try and avoid. Like I said, younger and dumber. This is also why I no longer ride sport bikes. Even at my age, I can still see myself doing it. Now I cringe at the thought of my son possibly doing the same thing despite my lecturing. I don't dare tell him half of the things I have done.

The state of Oregon is actively looking at the concept of allowing lane splitting. I got to take a survey on it and told them it was a massively stupid idea.

After the survey I came up with an idea - all motorcyclists who lane split must be required to not wear a helmet...
