Really, the price of this equipment is quite salty! But the process is, in a way, mesmerizing...

I wonder if that is a "Caution, Do Not look into the beam" sticker at the end of the tool?

You can get one on Amazon for only $48,640.00.

I once got to stand at the end of the main beam output at SLAC. Fortunately they had the magnets turned on and the beam was being deflected to a different experiment. No "do not stare into beam" sign, but the backstop for the beam was a huge steel block with deep pits blasted into it.

Certainly, if directed at the eyes, it must cause some damage. In the video below (at 0:12), the beam comes into contact with the operator's hands. I don't think that's a good idea...

Reminds me of one of our former senior researchers, now 'retired' but still active, he told the story of beam path idiocy involving people moving mirrors and stuff live in a multi-megawatt facility, he cured most of them by hanging half a pig in the beam path and blowing large holes through it with each beam 'shot'...

Correct, the world is full of invisible things that are deadly dangerous (radiation, carbon monoxide, viruses). Unfortunately, some of these things are not treated with due respect...

The real "Bitch" about these $40k+ laser "cleaners" is that the emitter is a consumable with a limited lifespan and cost several thousand dollars.

Not just pricey to buy, but pricey to operate....
