    The good part would be the screen not the T cut outs. The screen would most likely be used as the backing for air filters in something like a paint booth. The reason for the odd shaped T cuts would be to maximize the air flow area while minimizing the number of cuts while attempting to maintain as much strength to the screen as possible

    I would think a piece of expanded metal mesh would be a lot more economical than laser cutting all of those shapes for a task like that. Or even wire mesh.

    Yes, but there are 2 problems with expanded metal and open wire mesh being used in spray booth filters. both are hard to clean and the often times high velocity air flow will cause the fibers of the filters to be caught in the woven overlays of the mesh and the sharp corners of the expanded metal. If you are selling a paint spray booth in price ranges from 30 to 100K the last thing you want your customers to see is something that looks cheap in the manufacture of your systems
