At a local scissor and boom lift plant, the burn table is about 40' wide by 100'. It's programmed remotely, and a crew of loaders uses it with a schedule, distributing material for several work orders. They'll be atop the table on one corner while burning progresses at other. It's 'dry' figuratively, but retains water below, about 4" deep. Once in awhile, the grates are pulled, water drained, and a little skidsteer is dropped in to scoop out slag and slugs.
Once in awhile, is always a weekend shutdown. Then, it stinks like...., maybe worse.
