Is that laser welding or resistance welding? Looking at the sizeable copper pads that are fixed to the clamp jaws makes me think it’s resistance.

I'm in agreement. Typically the laser welding has a visible beam and welding head.
I wish the video had shown the other side of the tube joint, as laser welding wouldn't have done the back side.
