Lathe Belt Sander Attachment
This is how I attached a simple belt sander to my lathe .
My compound slide attaches with two set screws. It comes off quickly.

A simple aluminum cylinder with a threaded hole in the center provides
a secure point for attaching various accessories.
Attachment 49861 Attachment 49862
To keep sanding girt from getting all over the machine, thick cardboard
fits between the head and tail stock.

Attachment 49865
A base made from composite deck material bolts to the cross slide. Washers take up
space between the slide and top of the cardboard.
In retrospect, should have made the cylinder a bit taller.

The flex coupler (https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/...e-shaft-109143)
is then fit into the chuck, the sander down over the studs and snugged up.
Attachment 49867
The sander has a port for attaching a vacuum which is very effective. The chips
you see is all the escaped after removing the parting line flash from 4 sides of
those 47 aluminum castings. (That green text on the casting points to the sanded edges)
