Oh that's neat. I have a built-in pan under my lathe and it's a pain in the butt to clean. You have to reach under the lathe ways and get your sleeves all covered in goo. Yours just rolls right out for easy access. Great idea.

Yes I agree, I love the roll out tray. My Logan has a fixed pan with about 8 inched between the bed an pan and it's a real pain to clean out!

I made this shelf for my lathe and it's helped me be better organized and more productive instead of looking for things. In fact I think it might have been your video that inspired my shelf build.

If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.

    It's worth doing for sure.

Did you notice the tool holder rack? It's just a piece of 2½"x ¼" flat aluminum bar stood off on ½" spacers attached to the back splash that I can hook tool holder dovetail lips over to store them out of the way but handy to grab and use. It's really helped organize my work area too. Also that flat donut magnet on top of the headstock is useful for temporarily keeping things I'm currently using out of the way but where I can quickly find them.
