I would want to round off the corners on this lathe dog, and perhaps leave it long enough to shield the screw to save knuckles, but it seems to work just fine without those potential differences, and you/I should be watching our knuckles and not letting them get where they are in danger anyway! Some other nice tips buried in the video as well. I have a 4" Kurt-style vise that is supposed to be delivered today, and have learned a couple of things watching the video that I need to do to my new vise. Well done! Have liked and subscribed at YouTube, as well.
