    lathe oiler bottle

Old lathes have old ways of being oiled.
Every morning the first thing I do is to dribble a little oil on the spindle bearings before start up This insures the bearings do not start up dry. Once the lathe has ran for a few minutes the oil will be transported up from the sump by the gears then along the shaft to the bearings.
Oiling this thing with a plews oiler is how I've done it for years.
I came up with the idea of how to oil it a little faster than with the pump pump pump of the handle of the Plews oiler.
What I did was to take a Pepsi bottle fill it with oil than screw on a cap from a Lucas hub oil bottle push the tip into the oil cup and give the bottle a little squeeze job done move on to the next one
