assuming this is a preliminary stage in making something else... does anyone know what is the next stage/s?

melting the slugs down to make battery plates could be one.
rolling them through a rolling mill to make lead sheets.
I have close to a 1000 lbs of lead mostly reclaimed from plumbing and some still fresh rolled sheets
It is my hedge for when ammo can no longer be purchased is what I tell everyone as to why I collect lead.

You have me beat Frank, I only have about 500 lbs. for the same reason.

What I really need is a few kegs of powder but if it came right down to it I would come up with a way to make my own even if it turned out to be low quality.
I have molds for 40 cal, 50 cal and 12ga. 12 ga makes great grape shot for a 2" punt gun but I don't have one of those yet.

I have several molds, from .356 up to .50. I do have a 2" cannon I that shoot ball bearings out of. I also cast concrete projectiles for it in caulking gun tubes. They don`t exactly fit the bore but a bit of masking tape takes care of that.
