Speaking of thin and pricey; Mica is half that size for twice the cost. But I needed it for burner windows.

Silicone insulating washers/pads(for transistors etc.) costs next to nothing, mica ones are pricey - but still cheap compared to beryllium oxide ones(that is if you can get them - cause they are "big no no" in commie infested places...).
